About this place
Located in Mibu Aiai-cho, Nakagyo Ward, ALIARE is an inviting Italian dining spot where guests can settle in over handmade pasta and satisfying meat dishes. A natural way to start is the assorted antipasto platter, which brings together small bites of more than 5 different appetizers and can be scaled for groups of 1 to 2 or more. The à la carte selection also offers plenty to pair with a glass of wine, including water buffalo mozzarella caprese, chicken liver crostini, and white wine-steamed mussels.
The pasta selection spans both familiar staples and fresh handmade noodles, pairing shapes and sauces with care. Options range from flat ribbon tagliatelle tossed in Bolognese or a quattro formaggi blend of 4 cheeses to broad pappardelle coated in a rich lamb ragù. Diners leaning toward seafood can choose dishes like clams in vongole bianco or pasta finished with Sardinian bottarga, while pizzas and penne dishes provide plenty of flexibility when building a meal.
When you want something more substantial, the main meat courses are well worth exploring. Highlights include a Wagyu beef rump tagliata, offered in 200 g or 300 g portions, alongside roasted Kyoto pork shoulder loin, breaded pork cutlets, and roast lamb finished with a red wine reduction.
Inside, the dining room balances counter seating with standard tables, creating an unhurried, comfortable atmosphere for solo diners and small groups alike. ALIARE opens in the evening from 17:00 to 23:30. Reservations are accepted in advance, and payments can be made by credit card as well as major smartphone QR code payment services.
